The Associate is an entry-level consulting position at BRG, supporting workforce productivity, span of control analysis, productivity education, benchmarking, and project management initiatives. Associates work under the guidance of senior staff to collect, analyze, and interpret data, assist in benchmarking studies, function in project management and contribute to client deliverables. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to learning and professional growth.
Headquartered in Emeryville, California, BRG currently has over 20 offices across the US and internationally. This position will be virtual and may require travel up to 80 percent of the time, and offers advancement opportunities within a rapidly growing expert services and consulting firm.
Responsibilities
• Gather, organize, and analyze workforce productivity data from multiple sources (e.g., payroll, HRIS, operational metrics).
• Assist in benchmarking analysis, comparing organizational performance against industry standards and best practices.
• Support span of control studies and productivity education initiatives for clients.
• Observe client meetings with senior staff, take notes, and participate in debrief discussions.
• Conduct time studies and/or observations in hospital departments to identify workflow challenges.
• Aggregate data and conduct analytical analysis to support productivity target creation
• Prepare and maintain organized work papers, files, and case materials.
• Document own work product and follow established methodologies and quality control techniques.
• Participate in project management activities, including setting up matter folders, tracking milestones, and supporting project documentation.
• Contribute to the preparation of written reports, analysis, and presentations.
• Demonstrate effective listening skills and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.
• Collaborate with team members to solve problems and improve group performance.
• Participate in group meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
• Adhere to administrative requirements, including time submission and expense reporting.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in economics, finance, accounting, statistics, or related field.
• 0–2 years prior experience in workforce productivity, benchmarking, or related consulting (internships or coursework may qualify).
• Proficiency with MS Excel and/or other analytical software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, Stata, MS Access, MS SQL Server).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Travel as required up to 80 percent of the time.

Associate Salary Range: $65,000 - $94,000
