About the Role

HR Advantage is seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Payroll Processing Specialist to join our team. This role supports payroll processing for multiple clients across a variety of industries and over multiple states. Because our clients use different payroll systems, the ideal candidate is comfortable working in a multi-platform environment and can quickly adapt to different payroll workflows. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys payroll operations, solving problems, building client relationships, and supporting payroll transitions and audits.

What You’ll Do

• Process payroll for multiple clients accurately and on time across various payroll platforms
• Work within systems such as Paylocity, ADP, isolved, Paycom, and other payroll/HRIS platforms as needed
• Review payroll data for accuracy, including hours, earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and PTO balances
• Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies prior to payroll submission
• Support clients with payroll-related questions and provide timely, professional customer service
• Assist with payroll system transitions and implementations, including data review, setup support, and testing
• Conduct payroll audits and reconciliations to ensure compliance and accuracy
• Help maintain payroll process documentation and client payroll procedures
• Collaborate with internal HR/operations team members on client support, issue resolution, and process improvements

What We’re Looking For

• Payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-client or service-based environment
• Multi-state payroll experience, California state payroll processing experience a must.
• Experience using multiple payroll platforms (Paylocity, ADP, Isolved, Paycom, etc.)
• Strong understanding of payroll fundamentals (earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, wage/hour basics)
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
• Strong client communication and customer service skills
• Comfortable learning new systems and technology quickly
• Proficiency in Excel and general payroll reporting
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team

• Multi-state payroll processing experience preferred
• Working knowledge of multi-state payroll practices, tax setup, and payroll compliance considerations preferred
• CPP/FPC certification (or willingness to pursue) a plus
• Experience supporting payroll conversions/implementations
• Experience with payroll audits and reconciliations
• HR, benefits, or timekeeping experience is a plus
