Position Information


Under the direction of the Assistant Dean of Communications and Strategic Initiatives for the College of Natural & Agricultural Sciences (CNAS) at UC Riverside, this position will manage the day-to-day marketing and communications activities for CNAS, with a special emphasis on recruitment, outreach and retention. The primary function of this role is to develop and support and comprehensive campaigns designed to build awareness of the College's programs, attract prospective students, improve conversion rates of admitted students to enrollees, showcase the expertise and success of faculty, current students, and alumni, and enhance the culture of the college. This position is also responsible for writing, editing and producing content for print, web, visual, digital, and electronic platforms that target internal and external audiences, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, prospective/admitted students, the UCR campus community, and the general public. This position will collaborate with college and campus partners to support marketing and communications efforts. As an integral part of the CNAS communications team, this position will work closely with the CNAS Assistant Dean of Communications and Strategic Initiatives, CNAS Digital Communications Manager, CNAS Events Manager, members of the CNAS Dean's Office, CNAS Undergraduate Academic Advising, CNAS Graduate Student Advising Center, CNAS’ 13 departments, 17 CNAS majors, 20+ institutes and centers, various college programs, faculty, staff, and students. Collaboration and partnerships with university stakeholders include University Relations, Development, Alumni Engagement, Family Network, Student Affairs, Student Life, Undergraduate Admissions, etc. A portfolio of work samples (writing, campaigns, video/photo projects, etc) will be requested of interviewees.The full salary range for the Communications Manager is $75,900.00 - $137,300.00 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $75,900 - $91,250 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time.  Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements. A work sample may be required as part of the recruitment process.
