About This Position
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Middle School Social Studies Teacher who is passionate about providing engaging and meaningful learning experiences for our students. As a key member of our teaching team, you will be responsible for creating and implementing lesson plans that align with the DC OSSE social studies standards, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of history, geography, civics, and economics. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt their teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs of middle school students, fostering critical thinking skills and a love of social studies.
In addition to classroom instruction, the Middle School Social Studies Teacher will be responsible for assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and collaborating with colleagues to support the overall academic success of our students. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be working closely with parents, administrators, and other stakeholders to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Candidates should possess
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
A valid teaching license in Washington DC is preferred
Strong background in social studies curriculum development
Experience working with middle school students required
Passion for engaging and inspiring students
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
