Asphalt Laborer at Cowboy's BIG IRON Services – Edgewood, New Mexico

Job Overview:

• Company: Cowboys Big Iron Services, LLC.
• Salary/Pay Rate: $19 to $24 per hour (Based on experience) plus Year-End Bonus.
• Location: Edgewood, NM (Onsite).
• Job/Employment Type: Full Time.
• Schedule: Monday Friday, Weekends, and Overtime.
• Project Scope: Commercial, Industrial, and Government Paving Projects.
• Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: None Required.

The Opportunity: You will be the backbone of our paving operations, working in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment where your physical grit directly impacts project success. This is a one-of-a-kind experience to join a crew of "cowboys" who are the toughest and baddest in the industry. You will gain hands-on experience with high-end paving equipment while building a long-term career in civil construction.

How You Will Make an Impact:

• Execute the manual aspects of asphalt paving including shoveling, raking, and lute work to ensure a seamless finish.
• Support the operation of heavy paving machinery by assisting with equipment setup and teardown on various job sites.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by proactively picking up tools and securing the site at the end of each day.
• Communicate effectively with paver operators and truck drivers to coordinate the continuous flow of hot mix asphalt.
• Monitor site safety and traffic control to protect the crew and the public during active paving transitions.
• Inspect and clean hand tools and small machinery daily to ensure they are ready for high-speed production.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in asphalt paving or heavy civil construction.
• Proven ability to thrive under high pressure and maintain a fast working pace.
• Physical stamina to work outdoors for long periods in extreme temperatures and loud environments.
• Strong reliability and a "team-first" mentality required for weekend and overtime shifts.
• Ability to follow complex directions from Foremen and Superintendents with precision.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Prior experience working on prevailing wage projects or government federal contracts.
• Knowledge of asphalt raking techniques and specialized paving finishing machine support.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License for travel to various project sites.
