Job Title: Legal Project Manager

Department: Operations – Services

Reports To: RavenTek Program Manager

Location: Washington, DC, with flexibility for Telework (must live within driving distance)

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Hours: Full-time, 40-hours/week

FLSA Status: Hourly, Nonexempt

Clearance: Public Trust

Position Summary

The Legal Project Manager (LPM) provides project management and operational support for legal services by overseeing the administrative, procedural, and workflow aspects of legal matters. This role enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of legal operations by managing project scope, timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and compliance requirements. The Legal Project Manager works closely with attorneys, stakeholders, and support personnel to streamline workflows, improve transparency, and ensure timely delivery of legal services. By optimizing processes and managing non-legal functions, this position enables legal professionals to focus on substantive legal work and strategic decision-making. The performance of this position is key to RavenTek's performance on the contract, and therefore RavenTek's mission to support the customer.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables for legal matters and initiatives.
  • Develop and manage budgets for legal projects; track costs and expenditures to ensure adherence to financial constraints.
  • Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely completion of legal work.
  • Standardize and optimize workflows for legal case management to improve efficiency and reduce redundancies.
  • Coordinate and allocate resources, including attorneys, paralegals, and support staff, to ensure effective task execution.
  • Facilitate communication between attorneys, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure transparency and alignment.
  • Identify risks, bottlenecks, and dependencies in legal projects; implement mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, reports, and dashboards to track performance and outcomes.
  • Support process improvement initiatives and implement best practices in legal project management.
  • Utilize legal project management and document management tools to support operations and reporting.
  • Assist with compliance tracking, reporting requirements, and audit readiness activities.
  • Facilitate meetings, briefings, and working sessions; capture and distribute action items and follow-ups.
  • Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
  • Submit Monthly Status Reports on a regular basis, as required.
  • Monitor RavenTek email on a regular basis, at least 3 times per week, and respond accordingly.
  • Complete required compliance training as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Critical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of legal processes, case management, and legal operations.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with project management tools, document management systems, and e-billing platforms.

Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in legal operations, project management, or program support.
  • Experience supporting legal teams, government programs, or regulated environments preferred.
  • Experience optimizing workflows and implementing process improvements.

Certifications, Licenses

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification preferred.

Work Environment

Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.

Physical Demands

To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee must be able to lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically up to 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
