Key Responsibilities
Precision Healthcare Specialists is seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Urology team. This role supports physicians and advanced providers in delivering high-quality patient care, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring efficient patient flow. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and experienced in a fast-paced specialty practice environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document medical histories accurately
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during urological procedures
- Perform clinical tasks such as injections, catheter care, specimen collection, and urinalysis
- Assist with minor in-office procedures (e.g., cystoscopy setup, bladder scans, post-void residuals)
- Maintain and update patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and post-procedure care instructions
- Coordinate lab tests, imaging, referrals, and follow-up appointments
- Handle prescription refills and prior authorizations as directed
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked, clean, and prepared between patients
- Follow infection control, safety protocols, and HIPAA compliance standards
- Communicate effectively with providers, staff, and patients
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required (AAMA or equivalent)
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited MA program preferred
- Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience, preferably in urology or specialty care
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Experience with EHR systems (eClinicalWorks, Athena, Epic, or similar)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Experience in urology, nephrology, or surgical specialty
- Familiarity with catheterization, bladder scanning, and urodynamic testing
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Patient-centered approach with a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Full-time, onsite position
- Monday–Friday schedule (hours may vary based on clinic needs)
