JOB SUMMARY
The System Administrator provides advanced technical expertise and support for Campbell County Health’s systems and infrastructure. This role adheres to all IT policies, procedures, standards, and documentation requirements to ensure the delivery of high-quality Information Technology services. Responsibilities include systems administration, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and ensuring data redundancy, backup integrity, and disaster recovery readiness.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

  • Builds and maintains positive working relationships with all departments, managers, staff physicians, and team members utilizing server-based systems. Works independently to gather technical requirements and convert them into effective organizational solutions. Takes ownership of strategic projects and identifies new opportunities to improve system performance and reliability. Serves as a key resource for daily operational issues across server-based, web-based, and appliance-based systems while consistently delivering outstanding customer service.

  • Develops Subject Matter Expert (SME)-level proficiency in one or more core data center functional areas, including: compute hardware and operating systems; storage and SAN infrastructure; server, storage, and network virtualization (SDDC); workload and data center automation; private, public, and hybrid cloud environments; data center networking; application load balancing/delivery; data center security; backup and recovery; business continuity; and End-User Computing (EUC).

  • Proactively monitors systems to anticipate issues, identify root causes, and lead resolution planning in collaboration with the appropriate IT teams.

  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to organizational values, ethics, and compliance standards, including adherence to the Code of Conduct, applicable laws and regulations, and hospital policies. Contributes to a culture of learning by sharing knowledge and collaborating with peers.

  • Maintains eligibility free from governmental sanctions related to healthcare or financial practices. Performs additional duties as assigned.

  • Participates in the on-call rotation.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Two-year technical degree or certification program required.

  • Relevant industry certifications may substitute for formal education.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional IT infrastructure and departmental experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years designing and implementing storage and SAN solutions.

  • Minimum of 2 years administering Microsoft systems.

  • Minimum of 2 years managing data center compute and storage environments.

  • Minimum of 2 years troubleshooting and managing Active Directory and Exchange environments.

  • EPIC experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated understanding of data center security and PCI requirements.

  • Proficiency in using PowerShell to perform and automate routine IT tasks.
