About This Position
Kinsley Energy Systems is seeking a driven and experienced Sales Manager to expand our distributed energy solutions business across the Northeast United States. This role is responsible for developing new business opportunities and delivering innovative energy solutions that improve reliability, sustainability, and operational performance for our customers.
The Sales Manager will focus on promoting and selling KES’s full suite of advanced energy technologies, working closely with engineering, operations, and service teams to deliver customized solutions for commercial, industrial, and mission-critical facilities.
Our distributed energy solutions portfolio includes:
- Combined Heat & Power (CHP) systems
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Mainspring Linear Generators
- Microgrid development and integration
- Remote monitoring and field performance optimization of microgrids and distributed energy systems
- Comprehensive service and lifecycle support for all deployed technologies

Key Responsibilities:
Business Development
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities for KES’s distributed energy solutions throughout the Northeast region.
- Target project developers, engineers, contractors, facility managers, and organizations seeking resilient and sustainable energy solutions.
- Generate leads, qualify prospects, manage the sales pipeline, and close deals that drive regional growth.
Technical Sales Leadership
- Develop a strong understanding of KES’s full suite of distributed energy technologies including CHP systems, BESS, microgrids, and Mainspring generators.
- Effectively communicate the operational, financial, and sustainability benefits of these solutions to prospective clients.
Proposal Development
- Prepare proposals and presentations that outline system capabilities, technical specifications, pricing, and project value.
- Work with internal engineering and project teams to develop tailored solutions that meet customer needs.
Sales Strategy & Market Expansion
- Develop and implement strategies to position KES as a leader in distributed energy solutions across the Northeast.
- Promote solutions that improve energy resilience, reduce operating costs, and support sustainability initiatives.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide ongoing support including responding to inquiries, offering technical guidance, and coordinating with project teams to ensure successful implementation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with engineering, operations, and service teams to ensure seamless project development and delivery.
- Maintain relationships with industry partners, technology providers, and key stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, energy systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in technical sales within energy, power generation, distributed energy, or related industries.
- Understanding of distributed energy technologies, including battery storage, microgrids, combined heat and power, or similar systems.
- Proven ability to build new business and maintain long-term client partnerships.
- Experience developing technical proposals and financial analyses for energy or infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Excel, and sales pipeline management tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
- Willingness to travel throughout the Northeast United States to support business development and client engagement.
