About This Position

Description:

Role Overview:
The Sales Representative at Heaton Erecting, Inc. is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and expanding customer relationships while developing a strong base of recurring business. This role involves actively pursuing leads, providing competitive quotes, overseeing project planning and estimating, and managing projects through completion to ensure company deliverables are achieved. The Sales Representative also supports collections and accounts receivable as needed. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Sales.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Alignment with Company Vision & Values

  • Represent Heaton Erecting, Inc. with professionalism, integrity, and alignment with the company’s mission, vision, and core values.
  • Contribute to company growth by delivering exceptional client service and strengthening customer relationships.
  • Support the achievement of company sales targets and business development initiatives.

2. Business Development & Customer Relationships

  • Establish, build, and maintain relationships with new and existing customers to develop a recurring client base.
  • Actively contact leads and manage potential customer lists.
  • Meet with customers to assess project needs and develop competitive quotes.
  • Provide timely follow-up and maintain consistent communication to ensure client satisfaction.

3. Project Planning & Management

  • Monitor delivery schedules and ensure equipment and personnel availability for assigned projects.
  • Compose site-specific project planning documentation to support safe and efficient execution.
  • Estimate and manage projects through completion, ensuring company deliverables are achieved.
  • Collaborate with operations and project management teams to ensure seamless job execution.

4. Records & Financial Support

  • Maintain historical records of customer activity, project details, and regional sales data.
  • Support collections and accounts receivable processes as needed to maintain strong cash flow.
  • Administer and maintain accurate documentation in company systems, including NexGen and CRM platforms.

5. Additional Duties

  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support team objectives and business growth.

Monthly

  • Number of leads contacted and follow-ups completed
  • Accuracy and timeliness of quotes provided
  • Sales revenue generated vs. monthly target

Quarterly

  • Client retention and satisfaction rate
  • Conversion rate of proposals to awarded projects
  • Collections and accounts receivable performance

Annual

  • Year-over-year sales growth in assigned area
  • Expansion of customer base and recurring business
  • Achievement of gross margin goals on projects
  • Contribution to company’s long-term strategic objectives

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in the crane and rigging industry highly preferred.
  • Experience with NexGen Fleet Management Software, 3D Lift Plan, and Snagit is a plus.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional exposure to job site conditions, including climbing stairs or ladders, walking varied indoor/outdoor terrain, and working in inclement weather.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 20 pounds occasionally.
