Epsilon Systems is currently seeking a full time Crane Operator I in Mayport, FL.
Position Summary
Operate a 60 to 150-ton hydraulic crane to lift, move, and position loads, such as machinery, equipment, products, and solid or bulk materials, using hoisting attachments, such as hooks, slings, shackles… Completes inspection reports and checklists.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspects the condition of the work site prior to crane set up.
Must accomplish daily inspections, documenting logs as legal records.
Must plan, specify and position rigging equipment for accomplishing work in a safe and efficient manner.
Transports material such as machinery, equipment and other construction products in the shipyard.
Must be aware of how much material can be lifted safely based upon weather conditions and the capacity of the crane.
Plans, specifies and positions rigging equipment for accomplishing work in a safe and efficient manner.
Inspects and maintains crane against any defects or malfunctions.
Reads and interpret job specifications and works with minimum supervision.
May be assigned miscellaneous tasks outside craft as required
Clean, grease and perform general housekeeping for the cranes
Understand crane safety limits, devices and locations that make the cranes safe to use and apply safe crane and rigging practices.
Must be able to wear appropriate (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High diploma/equivalent/Apprenticeship Diploma/additional vocational courses or technical school graduate; and/or military and/or civilian experience with marine mechanical systems in a repair department or shipyard.
Must have minimum of 5 years’ continuous experience in Hydraulic Mobile Crane operation in a shipyard or similar environment.
Proficient in operating hydraulic cranes but not limited to Link-belt, Tadano RT type cranes, 60 to 150 ton
Must possess current DOT physical certification.
Must possess current Class B Driver’s License.
Must be able to read and interpret all load charts and be able to interpret hand and voice signals.
Excellent hand-eye coordination, understanding of cranes and functions
Must be able to obtain and maintain access to US military and/or government installations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education NCCER/NCCO certification
ADA Notification: Involves heavy lifting up to 50 pounds, frequent stooping, bending, crawling, reaching and possible working assignments in overhead structures, confined spaces or beneath machinery either indoors or outdoors in noisy conditions.
