RN Staff at Willis-Knighton Health System – Shreveport, Louisiana

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate PICC Nurse to join our vascular access team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in placing and maintaining peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC lines) and peripheral IVs, or have a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform PICC line insertions, midlines, and difficult peripheral IV placements using ultrasound guidance.
• Assess patient vascular access needs and collaborate with physicians and care teams on access plans.
• Provide patient and staff education related to PICC care, flushing protocols, infection prevention, and troubleshooting.
• Document procedures, assessments, and outcomes accurately in the EHR.
• Follow all infection control, safety, and compliance standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to vascular access.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in good standing.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
• Proficiency with PIV placement.
• Strong knowledge of CLABSI prevention, catheter care, and infusion standards.
• Vascular Access Board Certification (VA-BC) or PICC certification preferred.
