Medical Assistant - Pediatric Practice
The office of Lori McAuliffe Pediatrics, a Division of FPA is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join their team.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • MA Certification (preferred)
Experience:
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years working as a Medical Assistant in a medical practice.
  • Experience in general pediatrics (a plus)
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific:
  • Perform duties under supervision of physician or physician assistant.
  • Maintain our in office lab, run all Point Of Care tests, Run controls, Document all test and results, prepare samples to transport to lab, unpack and organize all delivered lab supplies, bring results to attention of treating provider as soon as available.
  • Interact well with young children and their families.
  • Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature and document all information in patient's chart.
  • Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available in patients' medical records prior to their appointment.
  • Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required.
  • Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.)
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills including composure, diplomacy, and the ability to act with a diverse patient population.
  • Manage confidential employee information in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effectively time-manage job responsibilities; Organize workflow and documentation.
  • Responds to medical emergencies and solicits immediately.
  • Other duties assigned by Practice and Clinical area.
