Medical Assistant at Willis-Knighton Health System – Shreveport, Louisiana

WKH is looking for a bright, energetic Medical Assistant to work in a busy Internal Medicine clinic at WKP. The ideal candidate will have good communication and clinical skills. They will need to be dependable, come to work every day, have strong work ethics. Organizational skills and attention to detail are required for this position. Will need computer skills to navigate through the system-wide electronic medical records. Will need to be familiar with diagnosis codes for lab, X-ray and procedures. Will work with the insurance companies for pre-autherizations to schedule. Will work hand in hand with the scheduling department. The job will include, but is not limited to, performing EKG, taking vital signs, answering and returning phone calls, refills, and scheduling tests and procedures, and medication management . Hospital and department orientation will be provided upon completion of the hiring process, as well as training on our enterprise system, including health records. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00 pm.
