Art Staff at Fargo Park District – Fargo, North Dakota

Art Class Helpers assist with set-up, clean-up, and participant support during art classes for ages 6-12 years. Art Class Helpers play an important role in helping students feel encouraged, creative, and confident while participating in hands-on art activities. This position works with the Art Instructor and the Community Education Recreation Supervisor.

Seasonal Position: Art classes are offered throughout the year and schedules vary by season.

Fall, Winter, and Spring Sessions: Typically, 6-week sessions are held 1-2 times per season on Monday–Wednesday from 6:00–7:30 PM

Summer Sessions: Typically, classes are offered daily from June through early August on Monday–Friday from 1:00–3:00 PM

Time: Helpers arrive before class for set-up and stay after class for clean-up.

Location: Art classes are held at Fargo Parks Sports Center and Yunker Farm.

Minimum Age: Must be 15 years of age or older at the time of hire.

Background Check: Applicants must be able to pass a background check in accordance with Fargo Park District policies.

Physical Requirements:

• Standing for extended periods during classes
  
• Bending, reaching, and kneeling while assisting students
  
• Lifting and carrying art supplies and materials (up to approximately 25 pounds)
  
• Setting up and taking down tables, chairs, and materials
  
• Working in an active classroom environment with youth participants
