Custodian at Keel – Ladson, South Carolina

The role of the Custodian is to maintain cleanliness of the Keel facility.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Performs duties safely.
• Clean, sweep, organize production, office and general areas within the manufacturing facility.
• Cleaning and Sanitizing: Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of manufacturing areas.
• Dispose of waste materials generated during manufacturing processes in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
• Inventory Management: Maintain adequate stock levels of cleaning supplies, personal protective equipment (PPE), and other consumables necessary for custodial duties.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures related to cleanliness and sanitation.
• Documentation: Keep accurate records of cleaning activities, inspections, and maintenance tasks performed, and report any deviations or issues to appropriate personnel.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with production staff, maintenance technicians, and other stakeholders to address cleanliness-related concerns and support overall operational efficiency.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED
• Proven experience in custodial or janitorial roles, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting

Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel may be required.

Physical Requirements:

• May be required to stand, walk, sit, reach/pull/push with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel regularly.
• May lift or carry 50lbs. Weights exceeding 50lbs will require mechanical means to maneuver.

Work Environment:

Exposure is frequent to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles - eye protection is required, and fumes, machine vibration, and noisy conditions, high temperatures, and occasional to a restricted space work area. All Keel locations are tobacco free where appropriate.
