OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION:

Creates the manufacturing schedule and monitors it throughout the month to ensure on-time delivery of product to customers.


RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION - PRODUCTION:

  • Improves on-time deliveries of products and services
  • Monitors jobs with Just-In-Time inventory versus due dates
  • Handles all job changes and dates
  • Communicates Out-Of-Stock (OOS) situations to customer service and logistics
  • Monitors and makes adjustments to ensure overall department performance for production and productivity
  • Schedules, expedites and coordinates the delivery and movement of critical material, including material transfers
  • Interfaces with purchasing, engineering, production and customer service
  • Schedules and prepares production schedule for production
  • Develops and prepares weekly updates on scheduling efficiency toward department
  • Ensures all parties are fully cognizant of production status and that work planning and execution objectives are integrated and communicated
  • Monitors, analyzes, and reports performance to schedule of production activities utilizing information derived from material and production control systems
  • Monitors service and delivery issue and take corrective actions as needed
  • Identify and resolve supplier and internal errors that result in budget or schedule discrepancies
  • Research order and delivery discrepancies and resolve scheduling issues and take appropriate corrective actions to prevent similar issues
  • Works with Fabrication Manager to create a schedule which results in efficient machine utilization in concert with production run schedule
  • Insures that runs are prioritized for on time delivery, raw material is available as schedules are created
  • Monitors current part inventory, updates production team daily and insures that transportation time is considered in lead time for on time delivery
  • Reschedule any jobs required (All Specials orders, Large volume orders, Consolidated Intelligrated orders, International orders etc)
  • Manage and release jobs for stocked parts (Q.C., USPS, Access conveyor, etc.)
  • Reschedule to help achieve monthly and daily budget needs.
  • Manage scheduling of USPS orders, to ensure they are completed month prior. (So we can ship early if budget requires).
  • Re-schedule out of stock released jobs to minimize impact on on-time percentage.
  • Look at capacity planning and lead times.
  • Reviews B.O.M’s for accuracy and availability
  • Other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES/SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING PREFERRED:

  • Required - High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Required – Minimum one-year experience.
  • Preferred – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Preferred – Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Preferred – Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Preferred – Strong communication skills
  • Preferred – High competency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Preferred – Three to five years’ experience in manufacturing/assembly environment
  • Preferred – Employed with company at least three years
  • Preferred – Experience in Inventory/Materials Management
  • Preferred – Previous experience with ERP systems
