Position Overview
The Junior Reliability Engineer works closely with the Reliability Engineer to support and develop reliability-focused programs that improve equipment performance and operational efficiency. This role assists with the administration and execution of lubrication, vibration, inspection, and failure analysis programs while receiving structured training and mentorship. The Junior Reliability Engineer supports continuous improvement initiatives, reliability data analysis, and supervision of reliability resources to enhance equipment availability and plant performance.
What You'll Do
- Support the execution and continuous improvement of lubrication, vibration, and inspection programs by refining job steps, task frequencies, and acceptable operating ranges.
- Develop and administer oil analysis programs, including proper sampling techniques, result interpretation, and corrective action execution.
- Apply reliability engineering best practices to improve equipment performance, maintenance effectiveness, and plant uptime.
- Supervise reliability personnel and assigned resources, ensuring compliance with MSHA regulations, company safety policies, and reliability standards.
- Lead and support equipment failure investigations and root cause analysis in collaboration with the Reliability Engineer, including follow-up on recurring or critical failures.
- Review, analyze, trend, and report vibration and inspection data, initiating corrective actions and notifying maintenance leadership when deviations occur.
- Maintain and improve lubrication practices, including lube room organization, lubricant handling, contamination control, and re-lubrication activities.
- Utilize equipment history, documentation, and condition monitoring data to support reliability improvements and failure prevention strategies.
- Provide technical support for maintenance activities, corrective work, and planning and scheduling functions as needed.

What You'll Bring
Required Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of reliability and maintenance best practices related to equipment condition monitoring and failure prevention.
- Ability to analyze mechanical and hydraulic systems using technical drawings and documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical personnel.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage and organize reliability data and reports.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team environment.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or equivalent required.
- Prior experience or exposure to reliability, maintenance, or industrial operations preferred.
- Experience with CAD software preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Python or data analysis tools is a plus.
