Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with regular repetitive motions (such as typing). Must be able to lift and carry 25 pounds.
Shift
Shift will be dependent on current projects available. Approximately 5-10 hours per week as needed, which can be a hybrid schedule. Occasional evenings/nights and weekends may be required.
Job Summary
The Lewis Honors College is seeking a Marketing & Communications Assistant for the academic year of 2026-2027 to serve the Lewis Honors College, Center for Personal Development, and faculty.

Responsibilities:
  • Content Creation: Develop compelling written and visual content for various platforms including social media, newsletters, press releases, brochures, flyers, posters, digital displays, and web using Canva and Adobe.
  • Graphic Design: Create eye-catching graphics, infographics, and promotional materials to complement marketing efforts that adhere to UK, LHC, and CPD brand standards.
  • Event Recaps:Write stories, cover events, take photos and videos.
  • Event Communication Vehicle Maintenance: Distribute and remove flyers. Post and delete social media and digital displays.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Understanding design principals and at least a year of experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Successful candidates must demonstrate a willingness to learn new software and concepts on the job. Functional knowledge of photography, and understanding of technical procedures (image manipulation, color theory, suitable file formats and color space for print, etc.).

Preferred Education/Experience
The ideal candidate will be able to work from August 3, 2026, to May 6, 2027 (excluding academic holidays unless agreed upon in advance).

The candidate will demonstrate:
  • Interest in marketing, communications, public relations, and digital design.
  • Has knowledge of marketing with LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Tik Tok platforms.
  • Has experience with Canva/Adobe design platforms.
  • Has experience with photography, videography and editing.
  • Has effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Has an attention to detail, strong multi-tasking, and time management skills.
  • Has positive energy and a willingness to pitch in and be a team player wherever needed.
  • Ability to contribute fresh ideas and concepts as well as take direction and criticism well.
  • Ability to work independently but integrate with a larger, cohesive team.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs.
