This role offers the opportunity to manage complex and high-exposure claims while working in a collaborative and high-performing environment. You will play a critical role in evaluating, investigating, and resolving claims, ensuring compliance with coverage policies and legal requirements. Working closely with internal teams, clients, agents, and service partners, you will apply your expertise to provide accurate, timely, and fair claims handling. - Investigate, evaluate, and adjust complex or high-exposure claims, including gathering documentation, contracts, estimates, and statements.
- Interpret policy coverage, identify potential coverage issues, and draft coverage determinations for review by management.
- Assign, monitor, and direct defense counsel, independent adjusters, and subject matter experts as needed.
- Set or recommend reserves, evaluate claims exposure, and report on high-risk or unique claims to supervisors or managers.
- Document all claim activities and maintain accurate files in accordance with company policies and Fair Claims Practices.
- Provide regular updates to insureds, claimants, underwriters, and internal stakeholders regarding claim status and resolution.
- Collaborate across teams to resolve claims efficiently and ensure high-quality service delivery.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience managing construction defect or complex claims; litigation management experience preferred.
- College degree or equivalent professional experience in claims management.
- Must hold an individual adjusting license in the applicable state and be willing to obtain additional licenses as required.
- Strong knowledge of insurance policies, coverage analysis, and legal liability application.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and claims management software.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, work independently, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build productive relationships with clients, agents, and internal teams.
