Adjunct Faculty: General Physics I laboratory
Bay Path University seeks a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach the in-person General Physics I Laboratory. The instructor will guide students through hands-on experiments that reinforce core physics principles such as mechanics, motion, forces, and energy, while fostering scientific inquiry and critical thinking.
There are 2 lab sections Tuesdays at 3:30PM to 5:00PM and 5:00PM to 6:30PM.
- Facilitate weekly in-person physics lab sessions
- Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and materials
- Instruct students on proper experimental techniques and safety procedures
- Guide students in data collection, analysis, and interpretation
- Grade lab reports, assignments, and other assessments in a timely manner
- Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive laboratory environment
- Hold office hours or provide additional support as needed
- Coordinate with lecture instructors to align lab activities with course content
- Follow university policies and laboratory safety standards
Compensation: $500 - $1,200 per credit. Adjunct faculty pay rates vary, depending on academic discipline and the course's credit load and level.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Physics or a closely related field (or significant progress toward degree)
- Experience with undergraduate physics labs or equivalent hands-on experience
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Commitment to safety and student-centered instruction
