Job Summary
As a Patient Services Representative (PSR), you will be creating an outstanding first, and final, impression of the clinic for our patients, visitors, customers, and staff. PSRs perform various clerical duties to ensure accurate and timely patient care, which may include but are not limited to answering telephones, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, chart preparation, and mail/message distribution. Assure that waiting area appears neat and orderly throughout the day.
This position supports our Women's Health Center.
Compensation
We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The hourly wage range for this position is $18.55–$26.19. This range reflects the base salary for this position.
Key Accountabilities
  • Greet and assist patients, employees, and other customers promptly and direct them appropriately.
  • Obtain and verify all patient demographic information, making any changes accordingly, obtain patient signature, copy insurance and medical assistance cards.
  • Schedule patient appointments, maintaining accessible and accurate appointment calendar, obtaining and entering necessary information into the computer system, ensuring all data is complete and accurate.
  • Prepare all documents for patient appointments.
  • Assess incoming calls as to emergency status and schedule accordingly.
  • Reschedule patient appointments at the physician or patient request, demonstrating flexibility and diligence in rescheduling to accommodate special requests.
  • Schedule patient referrals with the appropriate specialist. Submit and obtain approval from health plan, if necessary, notify patient of the appointment date and time.
  • Process department requests for supplies, order approved materials, track and verify orders and deliveries, distribute supplies. Organize and maintain supply area and manages efficient system for supply requests.
  • Handle all patient requests for release of information accurately and confidentially.
  • Distribute physicians’ messages in an accurate and timely manner.
Qualifications
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Ability to learn and operate office scheduling and registration system
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid attention to detail
Schedule
  • Varying Days/Shifts, Monday—Friday
  • Women’s Health Center hours are:
    • Monday: 8:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
    • Tuesday: 8:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
    • Wednesday–Friday: 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
