About This Position
JOB SUMMARY
Registered Nurses deliver care to patients utilizing the nursing process. Nurses collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Nurses effectively interact with patient and significant others, while maintaining the standard of professional nursing. Registered Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles. Due to the broad range of medical conditions they encounter, they must be well-versed in a large variety of health conditions.
Registered Nurses have a professional obligation to participate in committee activities, surveys, and improvement initiatives. In addition, Registered Nurses must uphold the standards of the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
Nursing Supervisor RNs facilitates the admission and transfer process and assumes responsibility for coordinating patient placement. Acts as a staff resource to promote and instill technical guidance. Nursing Supervisor RNs serve as the acting administrator on the premises after hours, on weekends, and holidays.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
- Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, AD, BSN)
Minimum Work Experience
- 3 years of acute care experience
Required Licenses/Certifications
- Registered Nurse
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS (required before completion of orientation)

- Ability to carry out obligations and duties of position.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Ability to collaborate with community, consumers, physicians, and other members of the health care team.
- Ability to work with therapeutic equipment.

- Requires extreme diplomacy and tact.
- Strong computer skills and ability to input data into computer programs.
- Maintain logs.
