Job overview:
As a Fire Safety Instructor, who establishes an education plan including goals, objectives and teaching methods. Represent The Burn Center at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center statewide offering prevention and fire safety, implements a burn education plan with programs involving educational settings, community settings, corporate settings, clinical healthcare, fire services and public relations. Including operation of a mobile Fire Safety House trailer classroom.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Current or Retired Firefighter or First Responder, with strong knowledge of fire safety and burn prevention practices
- Ability to communicate and relate clearly with others, particularly with school-aged children, school administrators, teachers, nurses, parents, fire department personnel
- Current and valid/clean NJ Driver License, able to operate, maintain and tow a tow-foot trailer and hitch vehicle
- Basic understanding and use of PowerPoint presentation
- Excellent Communications, presentation and listening skills
- Excellent knowledge of Fire Prevention/Burn Education
- Foster a good working relationship with local fire personnel
- Successful completion of all orientation programs
Certifications and Licenses Required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
Scheduling Requirements:
- Per Diem
- Day Shift
