Fixture Planner/Design Technician at Cushing Terrell – Seattle, Washington
About This Position
Description
- NAAB-accredited Bachelor or Master of Architecture degree a plus but not required
- License is Optional: Architectural license/registration is a plus, not required
- 5+ years job-related drafting, fixture planning, or retail rollout experience with demonstrated competence managing projects and supporting client-driven programs
- Experienced and passionate about Grocery and Retail
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD required
- Strong experience with fixture planning, merchandising layouts, and plan-o-grams
- Demonstrated experience interacting directly with clients, merchandising teams, or vendor partners
- Experience supporting fixture sourcing, procurement coordination, and cost tracking activities
- Strong understanding of fixture space utilization, budgeting considerations, and retail rollout processes
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Lead the production of detailed AutoCAD drawings including floor plans, fixture layouts, elevations, and schedules
- Translate merchandising strategies and operational requirements into coordinated, construction-ready documentation
- Serve as a primary technical contact for fixture-related questions with internal teams and client stakeholders
- Consult with client and merchandising teams to determine functional and spatial fixture requirements
- Determine fixture quantities, specifications, and requirements for new stores, remodels, relocations, and special initiatives
- Collaborate with space planners to ensure accurate part numbers, quantities, and layout alignment with plan-o-grams
- Support fixture sourcing and procurement efforts including vendor research, pricing coordination, and documentation review
- Partner with Purchasing on RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and vendor evaluations as needed
- Track fixture quantities, budgets, and lifecycle costs to support accounting processes and approval workflows
- Manage distribution planning and tracking of fixture orders across rollout initiatives
- Maintain organized vendor documentation including specifications, engineering drawings, contracts, and quality assurance records
- Perform quality control reviews to ensure technical accuracy, coordination, and compliance with client standards
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting aggressive retail rollout deadlines
- Develop and maintain strong internal and external client and vendor relationships

*Actual pay will be determined based on the candidates years of experience, licensure status, location, level of proficiency, and other job-related factors (as permitted by law). This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.
