This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Ophthalmology Account Director (OAD) Mid-Atlantic in the United States.
This senior commercial role is focused on driving strategic account engagement and contract performance across a portfolio of ophthalmology products within a defined U.S. region. You will serve as a key interface between healthcare customers and internal market access, brand, and leadership teams, ensuring effective contract education, adoption, and pull-through. The role requires deep expertise in complex healthcare account management, with responsibility for engaging executive-level stakeholders across large provider organizations, private equity groups, and specialty practices. You will translate commercial strategy into actionable account plans while navigating operational, financial, and reimbursement dynamics. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will help customers maximize value from contracted programs while feeding critical insights back into internal strategy. This is a highly visible field-based role requiring strong relationship-building, strategic thinking, and execution in a fast-paced biotech environment.
- Manage and grow strategic ophthalmology accounts across the Mid-Atlantic region, representing the full product portfolio and contract ecosystem.
- Lead customer engagement with executive stakeholders, including C-suite leaders, KOLs, and reimbursement decision-makers.
- Drive contract education, adoption, and pull-through by clearly communicating program updates, value propositions, and performance metrics.
- Develop and execute integrated account plans in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and internal cross-functional teams.
- Conduct regular business reviews with customers to assess performance, alignment, and opportunities for expansion.
- Provide insights from the field on customer needs, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to internal leadership.
- Support regional and national engagement strategies, including participation in industry and clinical events.
- Ensure strong understanding of customer operations, including payer mix, inventory levels, reimbursement environment, and workflow challenges.
- 10–12+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech, or related healthcare commercial roles.
- Strong background in account management, specialty pharmaceuticals, biologics, or market access environments.
- Experience working with large provider organizations, GPOs, or institutional healthcare stakeholders.
- Proven success in launching or supporting specialty products or complex healthcare solutions.
- Strong commercial acumen with understanding of contracting, financial modeling, and performance measurement.
- Demonstrated ability to influence executive-level stakeholders and manage complex customer relationships.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
- Experience working collaboratively across sales, marketing, reimbursement, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to travel extensively (50–75%), including occasional weekends.
- Competitive base salary range aligned with senior field leadership roles ($183,100–$305,200 annually in the U.S.).
