Lifeguard/Camp Counselor at Menlo Circus Club – Atherton, California

Assists the Director of Aquatics & Youth Activities in providing a safe and enjoyable experience for the Menlo Circus Club’s pool, swim team, summer campers, and Membership

• Assists fellow recreational staff: coaches, lifeguards, and camp counselors and organizes small or large group activities
• Maintains order of swim office, pool deck, locker rooms, and storage areas and kindly enforces Club and pool rules
• Promotes a safe and fun aquatics and camp environment handles first-aid and responds to any emergencies
• Helps develop daily, weekly, and seasonal plans for swimmers and campers of all age groups
• Teaches swim lessons assists with other youth programming and assists with childcare when necessary
• Becomes a knowledgeable resource to Members regarding all youth activities and events
• Promotes team effort and maintains a positive and professional approach
• Interacts positively and professionally with all staff and members
• Balance promoting technical skills, aerobic development, and fun
• Helps at swim meets and various Club events

This is a seasonal part-time position and scheduled in 4-5 hour shifts - Monday-Sunday 9:00 am - 6:30 pm.

• Red Cross Lifeguard Certification and/or Red Cross CPR/First Aid Certification
• Swim/Tennis/Sport team experience preferred
• Ability to train, mentor, and supervise Club youth
• A great sense of team spirit, fun, energy and professionalism
• Must be at least 15 years old and have a permit to work
