BCI Construction, Inc. is seeking a Laborer to join our growing team and work in central Minnesota. Headquartered out of Sauk Rapids, MN. BCI specializes in Commercial, Medical, and Institutional Construction.

Wage:
  • $20 per hour and up, depending on experience


As a Laborer at BCI Construction, you will play a crucial role in providing support to construction site members, with the handling and installation of various structures and fixtures of varying material types. You will work on a variety of projects, including primarily commercial, educational, and industrial buildings, ensuring that all work meets the highest standards of safety, quality and timeliness.


Responsibilities:
  • ​​​​​Follows BCI Safety Manual and Site Leader's safety direction. Promotes a safe environment for all people on site.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment to job sites.
  • Assist in building and dismantling forms for concrete pours.
  • Mix, pour, and spread concrete using hand tools and power tools
  • Perform:
  • Drywall hanging, wall sheathing, backing, blocking, and other rough carpentry duties
  • Selective demolition, including removing walls, flooring, ceilings, doors, finishes, etc
  • General Conditions, such as; temporary enclosures, barricades, fencing, floor protection
  • Routine clean-up tasks
  • General labor duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Education, Training, & other Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years of experience within professional carpentry preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Competently utilize various hand, power tools and equipment to ensure project quality, performance, and cleanliness

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Construction sites are relatively unique situations regarding typical work conditions. Workers are exposed to cold weather conditions, hot weather conditions, non-level ground, moving mechanical equipment or other workers, high spaces, low spaces, fumes, airborne particles, exposure to shock, etc. Strict policies and in place for these differing conditions, but employees must adhere to safety policies to protect them against negative impacts of such exposures.

Frequently:

  • Communicating with others to exchange information.

  • Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment

  • Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned

  • Lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds

Occasionally:

  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like

  • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods

  • Lifting and moving objects up to 100 pounds

  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

  • Operating machinery or power tools

  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
