North Central Fabrication- Shop Laborer

Summary:

Fabrication shop laborers perform a variety of daily tasks. Shop laborers may assist a fabricator or painter with shipping and receiving or any other task that is assigned from the direct supervisor.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

1. Operates, maintains and cares for construction equipment and machines
2. Assists fabricators and other skilled laborers when necessary
3. Will prime prepare and prime paint material when necessary
4. Assists with shipping of finished goods and receiving of raw materials
5. Prepares materials for fabrication and painting
6. Assembles and takes apart temporary fixtures and jigs
7. Ready to learn from on-the-job training
8. Performs shop and yard clean up
9. Finishes products by cleaning, polishing, filing, wire wheeling, scotch bright, or by applying protective or decorative coatings
10. Performs routine inspections on assigned equipment and notifies supervisor of defects or needed repairs
11. Adheres to the company’s safety policies to create a safe work environment
12. Other duties as assigned

North Central Fabrication- Yard Worker

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

1. High School diploma or GED required
2. Sufficient education or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills, and characteristics to perform duties of the role
3. Ability to perform physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks for extended periods of time
4. Must obtain the company provided necessary training and certification prior to operating any equipment
5. Ability to work in a team environment
6. Ability to work independently with little direction when applicable
7. Ability to perform on a regular basis in conditions consisting of wet, hot, humid, and/or freezing temperatures, also contending with dirt and dust
8. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
9. Must have a good work ethic, and the ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions, specifically tasks given by supervisor
10. Ability to use equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner
11. Excellent communication skills
