Payroll Specialist at SST Direct – Austin, Texas

We're looking for a talented Payroll Specialist to join our team in Austin! This is an onsite role where you will coordinate and process employee payroll for company employees. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, be tech savvy with pertinent payroll programs and software, and enjoy working directly with employees!

• Fulltime, Internal Position: Payroll Specialist
• Location: Austin, TX (onsite)
• Salary: $55,000-63,000/yr
• Hours: Two (2) positions open: 1) 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM, Mon-Fri; 2) 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Mon-Fri

Qualifications

• Proven payroll/timekeeping experience in work history.
• Previous experience within the construction industry strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of payroll systems and tax regulations.
• Proficient in Excel, especially with formulas and pivot tables.
• Timerack and Avionte experience a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in payroll processing.
• Must be comfortable being employee facing.

Core Responsibilities

• Process payroll on a weekly basis.
• Calculate wages, deductions, bonuses, and overtime based on employee records.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
• Handle employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues as they arise.
• Maintain payroll records and reports for auditing purposes.
