About This Position
G‑3 Chickadee—formerly part of Goodyear Chemical—is undergoing a major transformation. As a newly independent, Private Equity–backed organization, we are modernizing our infrastructure, implementing new systems (SAP, MES, cybersecurity), and building a strong operational foundation for continued growth.
We are seeking an IT Project Manager, reporting to the Director of Enterprise Applications, to oversee a portfolio of programs and projects that support the company's strategic priorities. This role operates at the intersection of execution and governance — driving delivery while also managing the intake, prioritization, and oversight processes. This role will partner with executive leadership to prioritize investments, optimize resource utilization, manage delivery risks, and ensure consistent project execution standards across the IT organization.
This position is 100% onsite and requires residence within commuting distance of our Houston office.
What You’ll Do
Program & Project Oversight
• Lead and manage a portfolio of cross-functional programs and projects from initiation through closure, ensuring delivery on scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
• Oversee the successful delivery of complex, cross-functional programs and projects, providing escalation management, issue resolution, and risk mitigation support.
• Develop and maintain integrated program plans, milestone schedules, risk registers, and status reporting for executive and stakeholder audiences, including portfolio roadmaps, dashboards, and executive reporting.
• Identify interdependencies across workstreams and proactively manage risks, issues, and escalations.
• Facilitate program governance meetings, steering committees, stage-gate reviews, and working sessions, driving accountability and decision-making.
• Track portfolio-level performance metrics including ROI, benefits realization, risk exposure, delivery health, schedule adherence, and budget performance.
• Align project portfolios with business strategy and organizational objectives.
Intake & Demand Management
• Partner with business and technology leaders to design and operate a project intake process that captures demand, evaluates feasibility, and enables structured prioritization.
• Evaluate incoming project requests against strategic alignment, resource capacity, and business value to support prioritization recommendations.
• Balance demand versus delivery capability across portfolios, optimizing utilization of internal and external resources and partnering with functional leaders to resolve resourcing constraints.
• Maintain a pipeline of active, pending, and backlogged initiatives, ensuring transparency across the organization.
PMO Development & Standards
• Establish and maintain PMO frameworks, standards, policies, tools, and best practices appropriate for a newly independent company, ensuring compliance with organizational, regulatory, and audit requirements.
• Drive adoption of consistent project management practices and tools across the organization, implementing performance management metrics such as schedule adherence, budget performance, and delivery maturity.
• Lead adoption and continuous improvement of Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid delivery models, promoting best-fit methodology selection based on project complexity, risk, and business needs.
• Support Agile frameworks such as Scrum, SAFE, Kanban, and Lean practices where applicable.
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency and governance maturity over time.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Build strong relationships with business unit leaders, functional teams, and external vendors or partners, facilitating alignment between business, technology, and operational teams.
• Provide clear communication on portfolio health, delivery risks, and investment trade-offs to senior leadership.
• Lead change management and adoption efforts tied to project initiatives, serving as a trusted advisor to project sponsors and team leads navigating organizational change.
