About Hildene:

This year, Hildene is celebrating its 120th.anniversary. Located in southwestern Vermont, Hildene was the seasonal residence of Robert Lincoln and his wife, Mary. Mr. Lincoln was the only child of President Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln to survive to adulthood. Between 1905 and the death of their granddaughter Mary Lincoln Beckwith in 1975, more Lincolns (three successive generations) lived at Hildene than at any other place in the world. In 1978, the nonprofit Friends of Hildene purchased and preserved the estate, which is open to the public year-round.Hildene is among Vermont’s top cultural heritage sites and tourist destinations. The rich tapestry of the Lincoln family legacy and Abraham Lincoln's enduring greatness are woven into the fabric of contemporary life at Hildene. Position Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Painter to join our team for the upcoming spring season. This is a full-time seasonal position running from April through May, with the potential to transition into a full-time year-round role for the right candidate. We offer flexible hours and days to accommodate a balanced work-life schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Surface Preparation: Washing, scraping, sanding, and cleaning interior and exterior surfaces to ensure proper paint adhesion.
• Minor Repairs: Filling holes and cracks with putty or drywall compound and repairing imperfections.
• Site Protection: Covering floors, furniture, and trim with drop cloths and masking tape to protect against splatter.
• Paint Application: Applying primers, paints, stains, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
• Equipment Maintenance: Cleaning brushes, rollers, spray nozzles, and other tools after each shift.
• Safety & Organization: Setting up ladders and scaffolding safely and maintaining a tidy work area.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience: Previous professional painting experience.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, climb ladders, and lift tools or materials (up to 50 lbs).
• Reliability: A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between job sites.
• Detail-Oriented: A keen eye for color matching and a commitment to high-quality finishes.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with team members and communicating with clients.
