AM Glass Inc. is seeking an experienced Director of Field Operations to oversee and manage field operations across multiple active construction projects throughout the New York City area. This leadership role is responsible for supervising field crews, optimizing productivity, maintaining installation quality, and ensuring projects are executed safely and efficiently.
The Director of Field Operations will serve as the primary bridge between field teams and project management, ensuring crews are properly trained, projects are staffed effectively, and installation work meets the highest standards of craftsmanship. Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include but are not limited to:
Oversee and manage multiple active job sites simultaneously across the New York City area.
- Provide leadership and direction to field crews performing work including:
Commercial glazing installations
Ornamental glass and metal systems
Waterproofing systems
Various curtain wall systems
Train, mentor, and evaluate field workers, foremen, and supervisors to ensure strong performance and professional growth.
Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and jobsite personnel to ensure smooth field operations and timely project execution.
Support the project management department by setting and tracking 2WLA (Two-Week Look Ahead) schedules and participating in weekly coordination meetings.
Conduct weekly meetings with foremen to review schedules, manpower planning, and project progress.
Manage weekly scheduling, manpower allocation, and workflow coordination across active projects.
Perform regular site visits to monitor progress, workmanship quality, and adherence to company standards.
Identify and resolve field issues, installation challenges, and jobsite conflicts proactively.
Ensure crews follow all safety procedures, company policies, and industry standards.
Assist leadership in improving operational processes, labor utilization, and installation methods.
Maintain organized documentation related to manpower tracking, productivity, and field progress reports.
Strong field-focused background in construction operations, preferably in glazing or curtain wall systems.
Ability to manage multiple projects and crews simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Experience supervising and developing field crews, foremen, and supervisors.
Working knowledge of project management processes and jobsite coordination.
Proven ability to develop and implement effective means and methods, including jobsite safety practices and project kickoff procedures.
Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to identify operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
Strong communication skills when working with field crews, management, and jobsite stakeholders.
Ability to collaborate effectively with project management teams and company leadership.
Spanish-speaking ability is a strong plus.
