Residential Advocate at Recovering Hope Treatment Center
Location: Mora, MN
Job Type: Part-Time, Casual, Flexible Hours!
Schedule: Overnight Shift, 11 PM - 7 AM
Pay: $17.00 - $22.85 per hour (PLUS weekend, evening, and overnight shift differentials!)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the recovery activities of clients.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living.
  • De-escalate problem behaviors with clients.
  • Provide supervision and redirection in client interactions.
  • Update client records as appropriate and necessary.
  • Complete necessary administrative tasks.
  • Assist in keeping a clean and safe environment
  • Transport clients, as needed in company vehicles.
  • Ensure the building is secure by setting the alarm system.
  • Provide treatment services as directed by the treatment team in accordance with section 245G.10, subdivision 3.
  • Serve as a positive and compassionate role model to clients, children, and families.
  • Monitor clients’ whereabouts and document in the Rounds book every hour, encouraging attendance in activities and groups.
  • Monitor client activity on cameras and check in clients returning to the facility.
  • Conduct room and vehicle searches, as needed.
  • Conduct wake-up rounds to ensure clients are up at the times designated for the day.
  • Facilitate and monitor visiting hours for clients and their visitors.
  • Coach parents in interactions with their children, as needed.
  • Administer medication in accordance with treatment plans.
  • Conduct drug tests through urine analysis or breathalyzer.

General

  • Work as a member of the broader team of the Center to ensure a high level of service to our clients, including assisting with general housekeeping, kitchen duties and light maintenance.

Degree of Authority to Execute Responsibilities:

The Residential Advocate has the authority to complete responsibilities of the role within established policies and procedures. The Residential Advocate will defer to the Residential Advocate Manager or Director of Clinical Services for situations outside of established policies and procedures.

In terms of care, the Residential Advocate may be responsible for delivery of treatment services according to section 245G.10, Subdivision 3 but MAY NOT admit, transfer or discharge a client.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to utilize and navigate computers, laptops, and/or tablets, to complete daily documentation or communication through email, an Electronic Medical Records System, or other company used programs.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of client rights according to Minnesota Statute Section 148F.165 and staff member responsibilities.
  • Experience working with chemical dependency and mental health disorders
  • Current CPR, First-Aid, Shaken Baby and SIDS certification

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently communicate with employees, parents, clients and other individuals with key relationships. This requires receiving and providing accurate information in writing or verbally, in these situations.
  • Frequently reach above shoulder height to reach necessary items, including supplies, medications, etc.
  • Frequently complete repetitive tasks.
  • Sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Lift up to 60 lbs. from floor to waist height.
