Position Overview
Brooklyn Bottling is seeking a highly capable Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations within our high-speed soft drink bottling facility. This role is responsible for ensuring maximum equipment reliability, maintaining a safe and organized facility, and developing a high-performing maintenance team that supports continuous production.
The Maintenance Manager will oversee maintenance activities across production shifts and work closely with the Maintenance Planner to coordinate work orders, prioritize plant needs, and ensure mechanics are properly utilized each day. This leader will play a key role in minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and supporting operational excellence across the plant.
This position requires a strong leader who can balance technical expertise, operational discipline, and team development while collaborating closely with operations, quality, sanitation, and automation teams.

Key Responsibilities
Equipment Reliability & Plant Performance
· Oversee maintenance and reliability of all bottling and packaging equipment including fillers, cappers, depalletizes, conveyors, labelers, case packers, palletizers, and associated line equipment.
· Ensure maximum equipment up time by implementing strong preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
· Prioritize daily work orders to address critical equipment issues that impact production.
· Work closely with the Maintenance Planner to coordinate work schedules and ensure mechanics across both shifts have productive workloads.
· Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to improve long-term equipment reliability.

Line Changeover Management
· Ensure efficient execution of mechanical line changeovers across all bottling and packaging lines.
· Develop and enforce standardized procedures for equipment changeovers to ensure consistency, safety, and reduced downtime.
· Lead and train maintenance mechanics on proper changeover techniques for fillers, cappers, labelers, conveyors, and other line equipment.
· Coordinate with Production leadership regarding the production schedule and timing of changeovers to ensure maintenance resources are prepared in advance.
· Identify opportunities to reduce changeover time through improved procedures, tooling, equipment modifications, and mechanical training.
· Ensure all changeover activities are executed safely and according to plant operational standards.

Maintenance Leadership & Team Development
· Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of maintenance mechanics and technicians.
· Establish clear expectations for productivity, accountability, and safety within the maintenance department.
· Develop and implement cross-training programs to ensure mechanics can support multiple production lines and equipment types.

· Maintain strong communication with Production, Quality, Sanitation, and Shift Managers to support plant operations.

· Support efficient troubleshooting and rapid response to production issues.

Facility Oversight & Operational Discipline
· Conduct daily plant walkthroughs to identify equipment issues, facility concerns, and maintenance-related problems.
· Ensure tools, workspaces, and maintenance areas remain clean, organized, and safe.
· Maintain strong operational discipline by ensuring no tools or materials are left in production areas and all work areas meet plant safety standards.

Vendor & Contractor Coordination
· Serve as the primary maintenance contact for outside vendors and service providers.
· Manage contractor activities to ensure compliance with plant safety and operational standards.
· Work with equipment vendors to improve equipment performance and reliability.

Automation & Continuous Improvement
· Collaborate with the Automation Team to improve equipment performance, automation reliability, and plant efficiency.
· Work closely with operations and process improvement teams to identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, automation improvements, and process optimization.
· Support initiatives aimed at improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and plant productivity.

Planned Maintenance & Weekend Oversight
· Oversee preventive maintenance programs and planned equipment repairs.
· Provide leadership and supervision during Saturday maintenance days to ensure scheduled maintenance work and improvement projects are completed effectively.

Within the first 12 months, the Maintenance Manager will:

Qualifications
Required
· 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in beverage, bottling, packaging, or high-speed manufacturing environments
· Strong mechanical knowledge of bottling and packaging line equipment
· Proven experience managing maintenance teams in a production environment
· Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
· Ability to prioritize competing maintenance needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred
· Experience in beverage bottling or liquid packaging operations
· Knowledge of PLC systems, automation systems, and industrial controls
· Experience implementing preventive or predictive maintenance programs
· Experience working with CMMS maintenance systems

Schedule
Full-time position with oversight of maintenance activities across production shifts. Saturday supervision required during scheduled plant maintenance days.
- Minimum 5 years direct experience as Maintenance Supervisor.
- Experience in high-speed bottling required.
- Hands on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and ability to work closely with production managers and supervisors.
- Knowledge of Excel and Outlook
- Bilingual Spanish/ English is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
- Ability to keep track of and report on activity
