Groundskeeper

Seasonal Position (Monday-Friday)

JOB DUTIES:

• Prepare, plant and maintain all exterior garden beds & containers at a designated store location and as a group for the Bachman’s store locations.
• Perform basic plant cultivation, pruning, trimming and weed control.
• Perform general clean up duties in parking lots, loading areas, entry areas and walkways.
• Remove weeds to improve the landscape aesthetics.
• Assist in installing new garden projects.
• Operate power equipment like line trimmers, backpack blowers, pressure washers and tillers.
• Provide inter-departmental support in delivery and other odd jobs as needed.
• Multitask and manage work hours to accomplish a variety of projects on property.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be in good physical condition in order to bend, walk, stoop, and travel long distances across grounds.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift 50 lb.
• Willingness to work in multiple locations on occasion.
• Ability to work alone following complex instructions.
• Desire to work outdoors in Minnesota weather conditions.
• Familiarity with working with light power equipment such as leaf blowers and tiller.
• Knowledge of perennial and annual plants often used in Minnesota; their watering and care.
• Experience with planting annuals and container planting.
• Willingness to travel to designated "home store" location for work (This could be our Fridley, Maplewood, Apple Valley, Eden Prairie, Plymouth or Minneapolis location)

SCHEDULE:

• Flexible work schedule
• Average 32 hours per week
• Monday - Friday
• April - September
