About This Position

Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Export Specialist (Air & Ocean) to join our global logistics team. In this role, you will manage end-to-end export operations across both air and ocean shipments, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant movement of goods worldwide. You will collaborate with carriers, overseas agents, trucking partners, and customers to execute shipments seamlessly. This position requires strong organizational skills, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Work hours: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM PST/PDT (1-hour lunch included)

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily export operations for both air and ocean shipments, including bookings with airlines, ocean carriers, and overseas agents
  • Prepare and review export documentation, including MAWB/HAWB, MBL/HBL, commercial invoices, packing lists, and AES filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Ensure adherence to TSA air cargo security requirements and ocean export regulations, including FMC and U.S. export compliance standards
  • Arrange cargo movement, including trucking, container drayage, warehouse handling, and port/airport coordination
  • Track and monitor shipments from origin to final destination, proactively addressing delays or issues and communicating updates to stakeholders
  • Review carrier and agent rate quotations; develop and provide accurate, competitive pricing to customers
  • Issue invoices, validate shipment costs, and complete file closures with proper documentation and system updates
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations
  • Support import operations when required, including coordination with customs brokers and final delivery arrangements
  • Ensure compliance with TSA, CBP, FMC, and internal SOPs across all export activities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in freight forwarding with strong exposure to both air and ocean export operations
  • Knowledge of U.S. export regulations (AES, EAR, ITAR) and air/ocean shipping requirements
  • Familiarity with TSA and FMC regulations
  • Experience with CargoWise or similar logistics platforms preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and adaptability
  • Team-oriented with a commitment to operational efficiency and customer satisfaction
