Homeschool 2nd Grade Elementary Teacher (2026-2027) at Northwest Christian Schools – Colbert, Washington

Job Summary:

The Homeschool Elementary Teacher at Northwest Christian Schools (NWCS) provides Christ-centered, developmentally appropriate instruction for 2nd grade elementary students. This role emphasizes teaching within a homeschool learning model while fostering academic growth, spiritual formation, and Christlike character.

Job Description:

• Plan and teach 2nd Grade with prepared instructional content that supports day of in-person learning and four days of at-home coursework.
• Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate, standards-aligned instruction using school-approved curriculum.
• Implement research-based instructional practices and differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Assess student learning and adjust instruction to support growth and mastery.
• Integrate biblical truth and worldview into all subject areas and classroom life.
• Create a nurturing, structured classroom environment that supports academic, social, and spiritual development.
• Monitor student progress and maintain lesson plans, assignments, and grades using RenWeb (Student Information System).
• Maintain weekly communication with students, families, and staff.
• Participate in faculty meetings, devotions, professional development, and required school events.

Compensation, Schedule, and Benefits:

• Compensation: The 2026-27 annual salary range is $7,100-$13,225, prorated based on teaching assignments below a full load.
• Schedule: Facilitating in person learning on Thursdays and class preparation and parent communications as needed during the week. The school year will run from mid-August to early June and includes 36 weeks of instruction, plus professional development.
• Benefits: Personal time off and eligible for home school, early learning and traditional K-12 tuition discount.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
• Washington State teaching certificate. (Preferred)
• Experience in a homeschool or hybrid program. (Preferred)
• Must agree to the School’s Statement of Faith and regularly attend a local, Bible-believing church.
• Proficiency in various software packages including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communications skills and professional demeanor.
• Adaptive collaborative team player.
• Must pass a Washington State Patrol and National background check.
• Ability to sit, stand, and move around the classroom and school campus throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
