About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Screen Print Operator to produce high-quality prints across a variety of materials, including cotton, poly/cotton blends, vinyl, and canvas. This role requires strong technical expertise in screen setup, ink management, and print troubleshooting to ensure consistent, production-ready results.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-driven, and capable of independently identifying and resolving print issues related to ink consistency, registration, and equipment performance. This position plays a key role in maintaining production efficiency and delivering durable, visually accurate finished products.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years of hands-on screen printing experience in a production environment.
- Proven experience printing on multiple substrates (cotton, blends, synthetic materials, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of ink types, curing processes, and color matching
- Ability to troubleshoot print and equipment issues independently
- Experience with screen setup, registration, and press operation
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automatic presses (e.g., M&R, ROQ, Workhorse)
- Knowledge of specialty inks (plastisol, water-based, discharge, etc.)
- Familiarity with production metrics, batching, and workflow optimization
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate screen printing machines to apply designs onto apparel items such as t-shirts, hoodies, and other garments.
- Prepare screens by coating, exposing, and washing out designs to ensure accurate print reproduction.
- Mix and match inks to achieve the desired colors and consistency for each print job.
- Inspect printed garments for quality assurance, checking for defects such as misprints, color inconsistencies, or registration errors.
- Maintain and clean printing equipment regularly to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Collaborate with the design and production teams to understand project requirements and meet production deadlines.
- Document production details and report any equipment malfunctions or material shortages to supervisors.
