• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers

Department Highlights
- ICU Department (18 bed); 1:2 nurse to patient ratio
- High acuity level of care
- Patient population includes respiratory failure, multisystem organ failure, renal failure, cardiovascular issues, isolation patients, etc.
- The department prides itself in high performing staff with excellent critical thinking skills

- Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team
- MAGNET facility
- Level III Trauma Center
Here's what you need
- Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
- Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
- BCLS - prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
- ACLS - within 90 days of hire
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training - within 90 days of hire
- NIHSS - within 6 months of hire required
- 1 year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
- Current RN experience in ICU setting preferred - will consider PCU experience
In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will
- demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
- The professional nurse exhibits understanding of basic human needs.
- The professional nurse demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient's affiliations.
