About This Position

**Pay Range: $19.50-$22.00 p/hour***

SUMMARY:

The Saw & Score Machine Operator is responsible for the set up and operation of power saws to slot, cut, and trim raw materials, including corrugated paper and plastic. Operators are responsible for correctly choosing and installing blades on machinery used by hand-tools and verifying the dimensions of finished materials using measuring devices. They may perform additional tasks such as loading saws and monitoring sawing operations and replacing damaged or worn saw blades. Saw operators are also responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the cuts, as well as recording data on production reports and assisting staff with the maintenance and repair of saw equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs the following responsibilities in accordance with VoidForm policies and procedures, work rules, expectations, and behavior standards:

  • Inspects and measures materials to mark for cuts and verifies the accuracy of cuts, using rulers, squares, tape measures, or caliber rulers.
  • Monitors and maintains warehouse table saws and scoring machines.
  • Adjusts bolts, clamps, stops, guides, or table angles or heights, using hand tools.
  • Oversees the training of new machine operators.
  • Inspects materials for imperfections and ensures proper quantities are produced in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Performs routine inspections of manufacturing equipment to detect faults or damaged parts and initiates the repair process, as needed.
  • Sharpens or replaces worn out saw blades, as needed.
  • Cleans and lubricates the moving parts of all saw machinery to ensure efficient working operations.
  • Evaluates the efficiency of each unit regularly, identifying improvements as needed.
  • Provides accurate and detailed production reports in a timely manner.
  • Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner, with safety as the highest priority.
  • Performs other duties as assigned based on experience, skills, and business needs.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Training, and Experience Required)

  • Required: 2 to 3 years of work experience.
  • Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Manufacturing assembly experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to think critically and respond quickly in adjusting initiatives and priorities accordingly.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, high-noise manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Ability to read and interpret production work orders, as well as communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet objectives.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with VoidForm’s behavior standards and values.
