Job Overview:
A Radiologic Technologist performs routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the practice of physicians and other health practitioners running smoothly. In addition, performance of routine radiology studies typical for an acute care setting is expected. The duties of a Radiologic Technologist include preparing and positioning patients, operating imaging equipment, ensuring safety, and documentation and reporting, as well as collaborating with healthcare teams.

High School Diploma or GED
Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology
Knowledge of medical terminology
Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook
Relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience performing diagnostic radiography

CPR Certification approved by the American Heart Association
Certification by the American Registry of Radiographic Technologist license
New Jersey state license

Varying shifts
Monday - Friday
Part-Time
Weekend coverage, as needed

Performs surgical and portable examinations as assigned
Performs and/or assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures
Prepares and maintains room and assures emergency supplies are intact
Instructs radiology students according to clinical and didactic requirements
Assists in the orientation of department and hospital personnel, as appropriate
Performs visual checks on equipment and reports findings to appropriate personnel
Performs all routine radiographic procedures and views according to the department procedure manual
Identifies problems and communicates with immediate supervisor/charge staff, offers solutions as appropriate
Adjusts technical factors in proportion to the patient and body part being examined, while minimizing radiation
Participate in the teaching/preparation of patients/families as appropriate and according to age-specific guidelines
Other duties as assigned
