Job Description:
SUMMARY:
Logistician III provides advanced logistics, warehousing, and material management support for Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) Property Accountability Services. This role ensures accurate receipt, storage, tracking, issuing, and delivery of Navy materialsincluding Operating Materials & Supplies (OM&S), Navy Working Capital Fund material, and special-handling items such as classified, hazardous, shelf-life, SUBSAFE, Level I, and DSS SOC materialsin accordance with Navy ERP processes and PWS requirements. Responsibilities include coordinating warehouse functions, supporting physical inventories, overseeing material management tasks, serving as a senior logistics technical resource, and maintaining compliance with Navy, DoD, and NAVSEA logistics regulations, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely handling of all assigned materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Execute full receiving process including offloading, inspection, verification, documentation, and proper handling of incoming materials per Navy ERP requirements.
Perform kick-and-count, verify material numbers/quantities, check packaging integrity, and document discrepancies for SDRs, TDRs, and PQDRs.
Manage receiving documentation including packing slips, DD-250, DD-1348, WMFs, and dummy receipts when required.
Maintain open orders, bills of lading, and receiving logs; research unidentified material to determine proper disposition.
Store, organize, protect, and maintain materials according to location schema and applicable NAVSEA and DoD warehousing standards.
Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including forklifts up to 36,000 lbs, in compliance with OSHA and NAVSUP P-538 requirements.
Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc physical inventory ensuring traceability between physical counts and APSR (Navy ERP) records.
Generate count sheets, complete verifications, submit LX17 inventory reports, and upload approved reports to ERP.
Process WMFs for material issues, execute issuing transactions in Navy ERP, and stage materials for delivery.
Notify Government Lead of delays, workload constraints, or stock issues.
Perform PPP&M actions for classified, pilferable, hazardous, and sensitive material using MIL-STD-2073-1E and MIL-STD-129 guidance.
Prepare items for transportation and identify unsatisfactory packaging conditions requiring Government involvement.
Load, transport, and deliver materials on-base using contractor-provided vehicles, ensuring timely delivery in accordance with priority standards.
Obtain required signatures and maintain accurate delivery manifests.
Provide professional customer service for material inquiries, identification, and ERP data retrieval.
Investigate in-bound shipment discrepancies, document issues, and recommend process improvements.
Adhere to all security requirements including handling controlled, classified, and CUI materials.
Support SUBSAFE/Level I/DSS-SOC requirements when handling applicable materials.
Prepare deliverables such as monthly status reports, shelf-life reports, technical documentation, and training completion records.

This position supports the DOD on a federal installation, and the candidate must be available to work at the assigned physical location during business hours.
8:00am 5:00pm, MondayFriday
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in preparation of proposals and technical documentation.
Support process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Participate in internal meetings or planning sessions outside of daily operational duties.
Occasionally provide backup support for other team members in non-critical tasks as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises Key Personnel assigned to the task order.
Provides mentorship, performance feedback, and guidance to ensure team compliance with standards.
Ensures that all personnel follow safety protocols, operational procedures, and company policies.
Recommend staffing adjustments or escalations to senior management as needed.
Requirements:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Essential :
Minimum of 7 years of warehouse experience performing material management functions including:
Receiving, storage, issuing
COSIS
Physical inventory operations
Discrepancy identification and resolution
Demonstrated experience supervising a team of at least 10 warehouse employees.
Experience working in DoD Systems Applications and Products (SAP) for warehouse management (Navy ERP preferred).
Ability to obtain and maintain all required MHE (forklift) certifications in accordance with OSHA and NAVSUP P-538.
Valid OSHA forklift operator certification up to 15K lbs (Class I-V & VII).

Ability to effectively respond, communicate and present information to customers, internal and external, clients and other employees in the organization. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is generally performed in an office environment which requires sitting or standing and working on a
computer for long periods of time . Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods oftime. Essential and marginal functions require maintaining physical condition necessary for: bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time, operating through extended periods of high stress. If applicable th e employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to70 pounds. Must possess visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; and the manual dexterity to operate a cell phone, handheld radio, telephone, and keyboard. Wearing safety items of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) e.g. gloves, safety shoes, protective eyewear or other safety gear as appropriate
WORK ENVIRONMENT/HOURS:
This position is not eligible for remote work, as the essential functions of the role require the employee to perform duties on-site. Job is performed in an office and warehouse environment with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. If applicable work 10(+) hours per day. Must be able to work in fast paced, multi-task environment. Will require having flexed hours to accommodate for mission requirements to include weekends and Holidays. Overtime may be required.
