We’re looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant (MA), CNA, or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to become part of our dynamic team at University Gastroenterology; a busy specialty practice located within the UT Medical Center. If you’re passionate about patient care and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Location: Knoxville, TN • UT Gastroenterology
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as a trusted resource for patients by answering questions and assisting with needs over the phone.
  • Educate patients on procedure preparation and provide clear instructions.
  • Process prescription refills and review medical records for urgent requests.
  • Support clinic operations by rooming patients and documenting information in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Schedule tests and coordinate with other medical facilities.
  • Triage inbound clinical calls and respond according to established protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and practice policies in all interactions
Requirements:

What We’re Looking For

  • Licensure: LPN (if applicable)
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1 year in a medical setting (physician office experience preferred)
    • Familiarity with EHR systems and clinical documentation
  • Skills: Strong communication (oral & written), patient-focused approach, and ability to multitask in a busy environment
