We’re looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant (MA), CNA, or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to become part of our dynamic team at University Gastroenterology; a busy specialty practice located within the UT Medical Center. If you’re passionate about patient care and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
Location: Knoxville, TN • UT Gastroenterology
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

- Serve as a trusted resource for patients by answering questions and assisting with needs over the phone.
- Educate patients on procedure preparation and provide clear instructions.
- Process prescription refills and review medical records for urgent requests.
- Support clinic operations by rooming patients and documenting information in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Schedule tests and coordinate with other medical facilities.
- Triage inbound clinical calls and respond according to established protocols.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and practice policies in all interactions
What We’re Looking For
- Licensure: LPN (if applicable)
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year in a medical setting (physician office experience preferred)
- Familiarity with EHR systems and clinical documentation
- Skills: Strong communication (oral & written), patient-focused approach, and ability to multitask in a busy environment
