Are you a strategic accounting leader looking for more than just a desk job? At Havenpark, we're seeking an Assistant Controller to be a driving force behind our financial operations. What You'll Do"
  • Master the Close: Take full ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting for our investment funds and joint ventures.
  • Lead & Develop Your Team: Inspire, mentor, and elevate a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Drive Process Innovation: Don't just follow proceduresreimagine them. You'll evaluate our current systems and implement smart, scalable optimizations that meet Havenpark's unique industry needs.
  • Be the Expert: Serve as the go-to authority on GAAP compliance, internal controls, and financial reporting, ensuring our practices are not just met, but exceeded.
  • Champion Audits & Partnerships: Build strong, collaborative relationships with external auditors, tax preparers, and asset managers, ensuring smooth and successful audits.
Your Core Competencies:
  • Analytical Powerhouse: You dive deep into the data, uncovering insights and ensuring every detail is perfect.
  • Fluent Communicator: You can translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for any audience.
  • Proactive Problem-Solver: You see challenges as opportunities and take the initiative to build effective solutions.
  • Cool Under Pressure: You thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and delivering high-quality work on deadline.
What You'll Bring:
  • The Credentials: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's a plus) is required, and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is a must.
  • The Experience: 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience. Your background in real estate (commercial, multi-family, hospitality, or manufactured housing) will set you up for success, and familiarity with joint ventures or private equity is a huge plus.
  • The Technical Edge: You're a pro with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Sage Intacct, Manage America, or Coupa is a bonus, but your ability to master new systems is what truly counts.
