About This Position

Essential Functions:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develops equipment quality strategies aligning them with manufacturing and engineering goals to ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or IPC.
  • Quality Management System (QMS): Owns the QMS, including updates, documentation, procedures and audits that ensure compliance with internal guidelines and government regulations.
  • Operational Oversight: Manages both Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) functions, including incoming inspections, in process testing, and final product audits to ensure product integrity.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Oversees supplier audits, qualification and corrective actions to ensure raw materials and components meet specifications.
  • Continuous Improvement: Leads investigations into product failures, utilizing tools such as 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone to implement corrective /preventive actions and improvement projects. (Six Sigma, Lean).
  • Team Leadership: Mentors and manages quality teams, fostering a culture of accuracy, craftsmanship, and transparency.
  • Develops and oversees the acceptance testing of all critical inbound equipment components.
  • Ensures and follows up on all inspection results by completing reports and logs for supervisors and engineers, summarizing results and recording data into QMS.
  • Develops and implements QC standards and metrics for entire EM production area.
  • Inspects measurement equipment and ensures all measuring equipment is calibrated correctly through manufacturer recommendations.
  • Monitors QC inventory and recommends disposition and/corrective actions of non-conforming materials.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
  • Assists outside inspectors during audits and maintains critical audit documents.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities or continuing training to ensure we are utilizing the most up to date QC-QA methodology and technology.
  • Other job responsibilities as assigned.

Required skills / characteristics:

  • Capable of working independently and effectively in both leadership and support roles.
  • Proficient in visual, electrical, and mechanical inspection tools (e.g., microscopes, gauges, micrometers, calipers, comparators, electrical meters).
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and engineering documentation.
  • Strong computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and quality-related software systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Deep knowledge of standard quality concepts and best practices for component, assembly, and system-level inspection, verification, and validation.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electronic engineering, business administration, or quality management, but relevant practical experience will also be considered.

Experience

  • 10 to 15 years of experience in quality control, equipment maintenance or operational management.
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in managing people and collaborating across departmental lines.
  • Certifications in ISO, Root Cause Analysis, Six Sigma Techniques and Preventative Maintenance Protocols.
  • Proficiency in Regulatory Compliance and QMS systems.

Physical Requirements:

May be required to lift 50 lbs. All protective equipment required is available and must be worn in manufacturing facility.
