About This Position

FIA Tech is the leading technology provider to the exchange traded derivatives industry. About the role

We are hiring a Head of TechOps to own the reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence of our technology platform.  This leader is responsible for strategy, roadmap, and execution across cloud infrastructure, production operations, DevOps/SRE practices, and platform services that enable product teams to ship safely and efficiently. In addition, The role will also temporarily include management responsibility for the Security Operations (SecOps) function, providing leadership oversight and coordination while the long-term organizational structure evolves.

 This is a leadership role focused on planning, systems design, and team leadership, as opposed to day-to-day firefighting. The role reports to the CTO and leads the TechOps team

What you'll do

Security Operations (management oversight):

Manage the SecOps function and personnel during the interim period Provide leadership alignment between TechOps and security operations Ensure operational security priorities are coordinated with platform initiatives Support risk, audit, and compliance activities in partnership with stakeholders

Strategy & Planning :

Define the TechOps vision, roadmap, and quarterly priorities Align platform investments with company growth and product delivery needs Lead capacity planning and scale strategy Drive cloud cost optimization and vendor decisions Partner with Security on risk posture, controls, and compliance readiness

Reliability & Operations:

Establish and track SLOs, SLAs, uptime, MTTR, and operational KPIs Build strong incident management and postmortem practices Own disaster recovery and business continuity planning Ensure stable, predictable production environments

Platform & Infrastructure:

Design and evolve scalable cloud architecture (AWS) Own the Kubernetes/container platform and self-service environments Build CI/CD and automation that enable fast, safe releases Lead infrastructure-as-code and operational automation Ensure reliability of data and streaming systems (e.g., Kafka, ETL) Improve observability, monitoring, and alerting Continuously reduce operational toil through tooling and process improvements

Leadership & Execution:

Lead and grow a team of TechOps professionals Run cross-functional initiatives with Product, R&D, and Security Drive clear delivery plans and accountability Establish standards, processes, and operating rhythms Communicate platform health, risks, and plans to executive leadership

Qualifications

10+ years in infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or production operations roles 4+ years leading TechOps/Platform teams of 10+ people Experience owning reliability for customer-facing production systems at scale Proven history defining and delivering multi-quarter operational roadmaps Experience leading cross-functional initiatives across Product, Security, and technology teams Strong cloud background (AWS or GCP) and Kubernetes in production Built CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure-as-code practices Established incident management processes and operational metrics Experience with capacity planning, cost optimization, and vendor management Experience operating in regulated or compliance-heavy environments (fintech, payments, etc.) Strong Plus:Kafka or large-scale data/streaming platforms Security/compliance frameworks (SOC2/ISO/etc.) FinOps ownership Experience building internal platforms or shared services

Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience

Base Salary Range of $210,000-220,000 + 30% Bonus
