We are seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join our Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV) team that focuses on assuring that projects are installed and operated to meet design and owner requirements.
What You'll Do
As a Commissioning Engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure building systems meet design and operational requirements. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with design reviews and commissioning plans
- Developing commissioning checklists and test strategies for equipment and systems
- Reviewing contractor submittals and shop drawings
- Performing on-site field inspections of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP/FP) systems
- Coordinating with construction teams, contractors, and vendors
- Witnessing equipment startups and attending factory acceptance tests
- Conducting functional performance testing to verify system functionality
- Supporting project documentation, including issue logs and final reports
- Collaborating with teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Participating in training sessions to expand your technical knowledge
What You Will Bring
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related technical discipline)
- 3-5 years' experience in commissioning or related field (i.e., startup technician, BAS controls technician, or engineer)
- Interest in HVAC, Building Automation Systems (BAS), and/or electrical systems
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and travel to job sites as needed
- Valid driver's license and regular travel to client sites are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to commissioning, construction, or building systems.
- Familiarity with facility and utility systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, and clean utilities
- Understanding of automation and monitoring systems such as BAS, EMS, and PLCs
- Experience or interest in pharmaceutical, biotech, or laboratory environments
- Basic knowledge of cGMP requirements and good documentation practices
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and travel to job sites as needed
