About This Position

Description:

The Multi-Site Equipment Maintenance Specialist at Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and up time of all production and refinishing equipment across our 9 corporate plants. This role supports operations by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on key equipment including paint booths, powder coating ovens, welders, compressors, and shop machinery. The specialist works closely with production managers to minimize downtime, standardize maintenance practices, and ensure all facilities operate safely and efficiently. This position also assists with equipment installations, vendor coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and extend equipment life across the network. You will travel to each location once a year to perform annual maintenance on all equipment and confirm the location personnel are handling regular maintenance sufficiently. There will also be some emergency travel as required if you cannot diagnose and repair virtually with the local staff.

Current Locations (Plainview NY, Danbury CT, Bath PA, Essex MD, Norcross GA, Hollywood Fl, Indianapolis IN, Kansas City MO, St. Louis

Required Experience

  • 5–10+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, field service, or equipment reliability
  • Hands-on experience maintaining
  • Industrial Natural Gas curing ovens / heat processing equipment
  • ( Powerflame and maxon )750K btu- 1M btu burners
  • And at least two of the following:
  • CNC machines or automated machining equipment
  • Automotive or industrial paint booths
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and controls systems
  • Preferred
  • Experience supporting multiple locations or franchise environments
  • Field service experience requiring travel and remote troubleshooting

Paint Booth & Coating Equipment Knowledge

Experience with:

  • Downdraft / cross draft paint booths
  • Powder coating systems (Helpful but not required)
  • Booth airflow and filtration

CNC & Machine Tool Experience

  • Preventive maintenance on CNC machines
  • Spindle maintenance
  • Machine diagnostics

Safety & Compliance Knowledge

  • OSHA industrial safety standards
  • Lockout / Tagout procedures
  • Combustion safety
  • Fire suppression systems
  • NFPA 33 (spray booths)
  • NFPA 86 (ovens)
Requirements:

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel 40–50%
  • Support multiple facilities across regions
  • Willing to perform emergency troubleshooting trips
  • Preferred base location:
  • NY,NJ,CT,PA but open to other areas.
  • Within reasonable distance to major airports
  • Soft Skills (Important for Multi-Site Operations)
  • Ability to diagnose problems remotely
  • Strong documentation and reporting
  • Ability to train local technicians
  • Vendor coordination
  • Strong prioritization and scheduling

Education / Certifications

  • Preferred but not required
  • Industrial Maintenance certification
  • Electrical or Mechatronics training
  • Associate degree in:
  • Industrial Technology
  • Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Electrical Technology
  • Helpful certifications:
  • OSHA 10 or 30
  • NFPA safety training
  • Combustion training
  • PLC training
  • Tools & Systems Knowledge

Experience with:

  • Preventive maintenance planning
  • Equipment lifecycle management
  • Spare parts inventory planning
