Aquaheat Facility Services is a premier provider of facility maintenance services being 100% New Zealand owned and operated with over 70 years of history providing a comprehensive range of facility maintenance services to a selected range of local government, commercial, industrial and infrastructure customers throughout New Zealand.

Our team provide HVAC, Refrigeration, Electrical, Plumbing and Carpentry services to a variety of major clients that range from the education and government sector to commercial buildings and state of the art facilities across the region.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible to to efficiently, effectively and safely carry out all work related to Trade Assistant duties.

This role entails working as part of a team which deliver high quality facility services (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Carpentry).

Responsibilities for the role include:

  • Provide on the job assistance to trade personnel onsite assisting with Planned and Reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Execute specific trade activities in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Ensure that your work meets the relevant quality and safety standards as requested, instructed or directed by the various trade staff you are working with.
  • At all times enthusiastically expedite all works in a professional and tradesman like manner to a level of quality that meets current accepted commercial/ industry standards.

To be successful a candidate will require the following qualifications and experience:

  • Relevant trades qualifications desirable
  • Current Unrestricted NZ Drivers Licence
  • Experience as a labourer or general handyperson
  • Knowledge and understanding of maintenance practices and procedures
  • Working in a service environment or customer focused organisation
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with using hand or power equipment
  • Experience working within OH&S guidelines
